See You Later Buddy.

Well, by this time I am sure everyone knows that Buddy Rice will not be returning to Dreyer and Reinbold Racing. D&R signed Mike Conway of Britain last week. Curt Cavin of the Indy Star stated here that Robbie Buhl made it clear that Buddy Rice will not be returning to D&R. This was a surprise to all since Dad’s Root Beer had announced last year that they would be sponsoring D&R in the 2009 season. However, not all is lost. Buddy Rice had a fantastic drive this past weekend at the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona, driving for Brumos Porsche. He lead all through the late night early morning hours. Buddy Rice has joined an elite group that have won both the Indianapolis 500 and the Rolex 24. After a strong drive this previous weekend, hopefully sponsors out there will step forward and help put Buddy in a car for the 2009 IndyCar season.

I certainly hope that Buddy Rice gets a ride, like you said Brendon hes in an elite group by winning both of those big races. I hope to see him in a car soon.

Ill be honest, after attending this weekends race in Daytona I officially hate Buddy Rice. He isn’t approachable and doesn’t seem to give a shit about the fans. Ive tried 4 times in St. Pete, 2 times in Daytona and twice at Indy to get a picture with him. He just continues to poweewalk away and doesnt acknowledge me. And at least 5 of those times I found him, there wasn’t anyone in sight or anyone who knew who he was.
Anyways, I dont see how this Mike Conway guy has the credentials to get this ride. Maybe he did something 2 years ago when he tested with Panther, but finishing 14th and 12th in the series standings overseas the past 2 years and coming over with no experience doesn’t make sense for D&R. Then again they need results, maybe Conway is the next Montoya, a name brought over that no one heard, or he could be the next Nicolas Minnasian

I didn’t know that Buddy was stone-cold.
And I don’t think D&R has a snowball’s chance for success in ICS this year… !

Go Buddy!
At Chicagoland, not only was Buddy gracious, but down right social. He took time out after his qualifiying, too time to let my daughter walk with him to the garage. via the whole time Sonic media was doing a shot of him. I can’t say one bad thng of this up and coming star. Most thngs about him ae a class act. I can understand the pressures, I might have even be non-confrontational at times if I were a driver.
Buddy, Love to see you in a ride this season! we’re pulling for you.. Hopefully we’ll get our hellos @ chicagoland speedway ..thanks for making it special for my special daughter these past few years.
